Tegan Woodbridge
Tegan Woodbridge is a Fine Artist who grew up in Milan and North London and is now based in the South of France; she has been painting and drawing most of her life and decided after trying many different careers that she would follow her heart and become an Artist. Tegan's first artistic achievement was winning a competition at the Royal Academy of Art at age 13, when students were asked to paint a dream. She studied Art and Design, and Fine Art at Bedford College, and then went on to study Fine Art at The University of Hertfordshire where she completed a BA Hons Degree. Tegan's inspiration for her work is drawn from nature, animals and landscapes; from philosophy, and religion. Tegan is also fascinated by ancient folklores, native cultures and their art, and more specifically pattern and symbolism in Native Art.
Travel has also greatly influenced Tegan's work, whether it be the traditional renaissance masters in Italy, or the sheer beauty, vitality, colour and art of Cuba. Tegan does not believe in using just one medium, and enjoys constantly exploring different mediums and media in her work. Her work incorporates the use of Acrylic, Oils, Watercolour, Charcoal, Pencil and Ink.
"I believe as an artist one should constantly be evolving, and exploring new ways to create and engage the viewer."
Tegan's artistic inspirations include, Salvador Dali, Stephen Wiltshire, Bernini, Titian, Da Vinci, Constable, Katsushika Hokusai, Utagawa Hiroshige, Takashi Murakami, Zhang Daqian, Arthur Rackham, Turner, Michael Foreman, Studio Ghibli, the whole genre of Anime and Manga, Gerhard Richter, Monet and Bill Viola.
